Meet Elisa
Elisa Frias is a Humanities teacher turned "tech intellectual." Through advising the award-winning Eagle Robotics Team 399 and coordinating STEM Expos, she has led organizations and events that keep people and learning at the center of technology. She is an experienced curriculum developer, and her articles on the topics of AI and Ethnic Studies are often featured in California English. Due to her work and influence, she was invited to serve as a member of the California Department of Education's AI Workgroup. She has been instrumental in establishing state-wide AI guidance, model policy, and legislative recommendations. Elisa Frias continues to present at state-wide conferences, and help shape curricular and policy decisions across California.
Meet Eryk
Eryk Frias serves as an Engineering, Robotics, and Advanced Manufacturing educator for the Antelope Valley Union High School District, leveraging a background in custom automotive fabrication and aerospace industry experience across composite manufacturing, material science, and systems integration. After transitioning into education, he became Advisor to FRC Team 399 Eagle Robotics in 2015 and a CTE teacher in 2016, earning Lancaster High’s Teacher of the Year (2020) and AV/Kern STEM Teacher of the Year (2021). Eryk is an experienced curriculum developer, writing courses in both robotics and composite manufacturing. Most recently, in 2024, he spearheaded the launch of Lancaster High’s pioneering Advanced Manufacturing Lab—one of only a few high school facilities nationwide dedicated to Composite Manufacturing, Robotics, and Automation.
